April 16, 2013. We had to change our name. Many of you have seen the TV ads featuring Patrick Cox who was President and CEO of Tax Masters in Houston, Texas. Patrick followed the demise of other nationally advertised companies who preyed on the unsuspecting taxpayers who had encountered tax problems with which they were unable to cope. TaxMasters (them, not us) collected advance payments from these victims and failed to do the work. They have now been shut down by the Attorney General in Texas but the damage has been done.
Their website looked from the beginning very much like ours and their website address was exactly the one we started out with when we created our first website. We have now had to abandon the name that I picked in 1981 to carry on our tradition of helping our clients with their tax problems with the IRS. Thankfully, we never got in over our heads and promise what we did not deliver.
Our Tax business, in which we prepare tax returns of all types, represent taxpayers who have problems with the IRS and help our clients with their Tax Planning needs, is now known as MyTaxMD and operates in the SF bay area in San Jose and in the Seattle area on Bainbridge Island.
Tax War Stories
We have been preparing taxes and representing taxpayers before the IRS in audits and collection matters since 1979. Our tax representatives, especially our founder, Jerry Slade, have seen almost everything that can befall a taxpayer. We tell these stories to inform you about your rights and obligations and change all the names and places to protect the innocent and the guilty. Of course, since we are not judgmental about why our clients didn’t or couldn’t pay their taxes, we don’t judge their guilt or innocent, we just try to help them the best we can.

Did you file an extension to file your 2012 taxes? If you did, it is time to get started on having your taxes prepared. If you filed an extension and owe money when you file,you pay about 1% per month, 12% per year, in late payment penalties and interest.
